The Daily Echo: Day 13 Light the World… Humility December 13, 2017

December 12, 2017

I love the acronym JOY… Jesus(First)… Others(Second)… You(Last)… The ultimate example of Humility was Jesus Christ. In a world dominated by ME it’s time all of us put others first. Sure it can be time consuming and sometimes we aren’t appreciated for our efforts. Today when you have the impulse to be a little bit selfish……Try and do for someone else and see the difference that act of kindness has upon them and YOU….. You might be surprised who actually profits the most.

The Daily Echo: Day 12 Light the World “Blessed are they that Mourn”…. December 12, 2017

December 12, 2017

The tragedies of life are a certainty. Each of us at some time have to face the loss of a loved one. The difficulty of those experiences can overwhelm us. At those moments when we can no longer see any hope or any reason to go on, we are lifted up by those around us. I know the challenges personally of loss. I am so thankful for the many that reached out and “mourned” with me and my family during those times. It is difficult for all of us to know what to do or say when confronted with someone who is dealing with the loss of a loved one. While it is true that nothing you can do or say will bring that person back your love will help lift those dealing with these tragedies. Just reach out and be there for them. It’s not about what we say or do, it’s about listening to your heart and you will know what they need during that time.

The Daily Echo: Day 10 Light the World… Are we forgetting to Read the Most important Book? December 10, 2017

December 10, 2017

I am an avid reader. And boy are there some good books out there. Almost weekly do we find another gem that can help us in our busy lives. But are we forgetting to read the most important of all books? Do we think the scriptures have run their course and aren’t relevant for our time? Light the World day 10 reminds us to pull that dusted off Bible out and you might realize it has every answer to every question today and all the tomorrows to come. Test me on that. Go ahead and continue to light the world.

The Daily Echo: Day 9 The Light of my World..Happy Birthday Mom… A true example of Service… December 9th, 2017

December 9, 2017

Well we have hit Day 9 of Light the World and this is a very special day. It’s the day the world was changed dramatically for the better. YEP.. My Mom was born. Happy Birthday Mom. You are the Light of So many’s world. It’s not by chance that today’s light the world is about service. How I have watched this angel mother of mine SERVE, SERVE, and SERVE some more. I would venture to guess if I offered $1000 to anyone who could say a negative thing about my Mom no one would ever claim that prize money. She is a living breathing angel that has touched so many lives for good, and continues to do so today. Love you mom and thanks for always lighting my world.

The Daily Echo: Day 8 Light the World… Love your Enemies…. December 8, 2017

December 8, 2017

You don’t have to look very far to see the division among people right now. In my lifetime I have never seen a division in my country like I have seen this past year. Today’s message of loving one another isn’t as hard as we think sometimes. When we begin to remove “label’s” from those around us we start to love more unconditionally. Understanding a “political” party doesn’t make you good or bad is a start. Let’s start to love one another for who we are rather than what we think they are. Go ahead and Light the World today by reaching out to “EVERYONE” around you. We are all more similar than we think.

The Daily Echo: Day 7 Light the World… Your Kids want YOU for Christmas.. December 7, 2017

December 7, 2017

Already on Day 7 of light the world. Today’s message is one of my favorite. I love children and nothing makes me smile more than being with children. As a parent I remember “stressing” out during the holiday for my younger kids trying to find the perfect gift. What I have realized over the years is what they really want is YOU… Yes they want your attention, your love, your TIME…. As we continue to light the world commit to give your children the most valuable gift you can give. YOU…. Keep lighting the world.

The Daily Echo: Day 6.. Light the World.. (Stop Judging) December 6, 2017

December 6, 2017

For one day try to evaluate YOU… Yep every time you see someone new or old think about what you are thinking about???? The human mind is an amazing thing that gather’s information all the time. Unfortunately it begins to make judgements based upon YOUR interpretation of your world. Most of the time we really don’t see the WHOLE picture. You might find this experiment a bit painful.. Too Fat, Too Skinny, Too poor, Too rich, Too Tall, Too Short….. Instead of forming a finite condition on what you see look closer and find the goodness in that observation. If we could all do this ONE thing we would light the world.

The Daily Echo: Day 5 Light the World…Love your Mom and Dad… December 5, 2017

December 5, 2017

Being born into this world does not always guarantee having perfect parents. We don’t get to decide who our Mom and Dad are. For some they hit the lottery while others were not so lucky. In my case I was blessed beyond measure. On today’s light the world we are asked to honor our father and mother. Make a phone call, send a text, or email, or better yet visit your parents. For those whose hearts are not drawn towards their parents either by the fault of the parent, or your own…… Make an effort. Sometimes we don’t really understand the full picture of why some take the actions they do. We are only asked to reach out and love and forgive. By making the sacrifice and attempt you might see the world a little different and will begin to restore a relationship that is needed in your life and theirs. Time to light the World.
