As wonderful as the mind is, it can also cause physiological havoc in our bodies. When we get caught up in catastrophic thinking we will pay for it for many hours. In fact if you just spend a measly 10 minutes thinking of all the ways your life is going you will pay for it for 10 hours physically. Scientific data suggests that the hormones we release while thinking negatively and “what if” scenarios that are bad it takes the body 10 hours to recover from the negative hormone release the body secretes. Hopefully this information will prompt you to shut off the negative thoughts when you start to go to that awful place you sometimes go. Thanks to Dave Blanchard the CEO of the Og Mandino Group for all his efforts to understand this phenomenon.
