The Daily Echo: Are We Not All Beggars? June 5, 2016

June 5, 2016

Poverty is an ever growing challenge in our world. Everyday millions and millions of people go to bed hungry. In every major city in the world there are countless beggars on the street, sleeping under bridges, or in wooded parks. Are we guilty of looking the other way? Afraid to make eye contact because it might prompt us to to feel guilty for their circumstance? Do we justify not lending a helping hand? Do we think thoughts like, “He/She could get a job if they really wanted to”? Little do we know the circumstances of those people who suffer each day from worldly hunger and shelter. It would be ignorant to think WE know why they are in that situation. Today’s echo from Jeffrey R. Holland teaches that great principle that we are ALL beggars. Each of us rely on the grace of our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. As we go forward this week try to not judge, try to love unconditionally, try to give a little more.
