The Daily Echo: Focus on JOY… February 10, 2019

February 10, 2019

We might think that Joy is Fun? For many they can’t seem to distinguish the difference between Fun and Joy. For me personally I have found at times they can exist together while other times Fun is not Joy. Joy always involves others. There is nothing that compares to the Joy we feel as a parent when we watch a child accomplish worthy goals in life. Joy is the birth of a new child or grandchild. Joy is seeing someone overcome addictions and smile again. Fun on the other hand can be experienced with a new car, a new toy and can sometimes be selfish. The times Fun and Joy come together for me is when I take my children on our annual OneWheel trips to cruise the beaches of San Diego. While this activity is a ton of fun alone or together. It is so much funner with those I love and brings me Joy. On today’s echo President Nelson talks about the Joy of the Savior with the most difficult thing he would ever experience. His Joy gives us the opportunity to experience that Joy as well. You see sometimes Joy can be felt when there is ZERO Fun.
