The Daily Echo: How much SLEEP do you need???? August 1, 2015

August 1, 2015

My Dad probably didn’t realize how much ahead of science he was during my younger years. He was an early riser and thus his boys were early risers. Something happens to you when you consistently get up at 5 a.m. every day. Your pretty tired by 9 that night. You begin to follow a schedule where you don’t even need an alarm clock at 5 a.m. and if not in bed already you are falling asleep on the couch by 9 to 9:30. Studies have now shown us that 7-8 hours of sleep is idea. Much less or More and we will have some health risks to deal with. We also know that Human Growth Hormone HgH is secreted while we sleep usually about midnight to 2 a.m. The secret is you must be asleep and usually in REM sleep. Many people do not take advantage of this super hormone because they stay up wayyyyyyyy to late…. Take time to watch today’s echo and see for yourself. If you struggle with teenagers that are sleeping in way too much burning the night candle way to late– Do as my Dad did and get them up early. After a few days they won’t be burning the night candle anymore.
