The Daily Echo: Light the World Day 16. December 16, 2018

December 16, 2018

You and I for the most part have the daily essentials of life. Food, clothing, shelter, water… But for many these daily normals for us are a treasured want. So many people go to bed hungry, without water, and shelterless. While we tend to think this only happens in remote parts of the world, the fact is, it’s right in own “backyard”… As we go about thinking of the elaborate gifts we will give our loved ones this year, think of ways you can impact a life without the daily essentials. If you look around you will see plenty of opportunities. The various food banks, toy drives, and many other opportunities. You might even want to “adopt a family” this Christmas season. Find a family that could use your love and support. Provide the essentials for a great Christmas dinner and some gifts for the children. It’s always amazing how much giving to others trumps getting ourselves.

Matthew 25:36 says, “[I was] naked, and ye clothed me.” Visit mormon.org to find ways you can donate clothes to those in need this Christmas season. #LightTheWorld
