The deception of GREED flirts with us daily. It has the “appearance” of happiness on the surface. When we focus our efforts on ourselves first we are never happy. We see it all the time in the media the lonely with all their “stuff” living life without loved ones around, because in the conquest of greed they alienated everyone. One of my favorite scriptures says, “And after ye have obtained a hope in Christ ye shall obtain riches, if ye seek them; and ye will seek them for the intent to do good—to clothe the naked, and to feed the hungry, and to liberate the captive, and administer relief to the sick and the afflicted.” When our efforts to obtain wealth are to help others we will find it. Until then if we happen to stumble upon it by greed we will find loneliness without the joy we thought it would bring.
